Tomball ISD is fortunate to have a private lesson program that is the envy of many school districts around the state. Private lessons allow a student the opportunity to receive individualized instruction on his or her instrument. Most of our teachers are active professional performers on their instruments with years of experience teaching in a private lesson setting.

Students who are needing extra help on class work receive this help in lessons while those looking for additional challenges are pushed farther.

The cost of lessons is $20 per week. Each student receives a 25-30 minute lesson, and many teachers are able to schedule lessons during the student's band class time. A $80 deposit is required to enroll in the program, and this deposit pays for the last four lessons of the school year. Parents are billed by the school district which then distributes the money to the teachers.

To enroll, a student may pick up an application from his or her director. Lessons are not required (except for those students in the top performing band at Willow Wood), but we hope you can see the benefit of enrolling in this very worthwhile program.
