The Willow Wood Band Booster Club is made up of supportive parents from both Willow Wood Junior High and Northpointe Intermediate. Through various fund-raising activities and volunteer opportunities, the Booster Club helps make experiences possible for our students that are beyond what we would normally be able to do.

At Willow Wood, the booster club is active in helping us to purchase music and supplies, bring in guest artists, and help to off-set the expenses of travel and performing in various contests and festivals.

This organization is also extremely supportive of the band program at Northpointe, allowing us to bring in guest teachers to work with our students (especially important given the large size of our program), purchase music and equipment, fund social activities, etc.

Please give strong consideration to joining this important group. The membership fee is only $20 per family, and the return on your investment is many times this amount.

President- Organizes booster club meetings and delegates responsibilities to other board members. Assists with and acts as a facilitator for all booster club activities. The primary line of communication between the booster club board and the band directors.

Vice President- Assists the president in his/or her duties. Ideally, if the president is the parent of an 8th grader, this person is a 6th or 7th grade parent (but this is not required).

Treasurer- Develops the yearly budget with input from the president and the band directors. Maintains the booster club checkbook and handles all money (fundraising deposits, writing checks for purchases, private lesson scholarships, etc.).

Secretary- Takes minutes at all booster meetings and makes a copy of the minutes available to e-mail to all board members, band directors, and booster club members.

Grade Level Representatives- Attend all booster club meetings and act as representatives for the parents in each grade level 6-8.

Parliamentarian- Makes sure that board meetings follow Robert's Rules of Order (OK, to be honest, the only reason we're listing this is because it's called for in the booster club by-laws...I'm not sure what this person really does but they do have a voting position on the board).

Concession Stand Manager- Oversees the operation at the concession stand at all Willow Wood JH home football games and at All Region Band try-outs and the Band Fun Night. This person usually designates an assistant manager.

Volunteer Coordinator- In charge of soliciting volunteers for our various band activities and communicating with these volunteers as events approach.

As a rule, each board member heads up one band activity per year. These activities include: Band Registration, the Patriotic Show, All Region Band hosting, the Winter Concert reception, the Supper Concert auction, etc.
